Eligibility Requirements
- PhD degree obtained or doctoral dissertation defense completed within past five years;
- A strong passion for scientific research, academic integrity, a strong sense of responsibility, good team spirit, and the ability to think independently and solve scientific problems actively;
- Background in mechanics-related disciplines such as Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or a professional background in intelligent perception, decision-making, and control for ships and marine systems;
- Solid hands-on experimental ability; at least one area of expertise among hydrodynamic numerical simulation, structural finite element analysis, polar ship or offshore engineering design and analysis, or intelligent control hardware/software systems;
- Publications in relevant fields in scientific journals, with strong English writing skills and research capability.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct R&D and design work in polar ships and offshore engineering, intelligent ships, and marine operations;
- Undertake research tasks within the group, apply for national and industry-funded projects, and prepare research papers and patents;
- Assist in supervising graduate students; work full-time on site and complete other tasks assigned by the team, including international exchanges, conference organization, and model testing.
Compensation and Benefits
Postdoctoral fellows are employed under an annual salary system. The university provides assistance with household registration and children’s school enrollment in accordance with relevant regulations. Details can be obtained from the contact person. About the Team
The research group led by Prof. Li Zhou at the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean & Civil Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, consists of four nationally recognized talents. The group has long been engaged in research on polar ship ice loads, polar ocean engineering design, ice-going propellers, and intelligent ship control technologies.
The team has published more than 200 SCI-indexed papers, undertaken over 50 research projects including National Key R&D Programs, international cooperation projects under the National Key R&D Program, the EU Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, and sub-projects of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The group has received provincial and ministerial-level awards four times.
